Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that the Parliament would scrutinize the Housing and the Labour Codes only after a thorough finalization and expert review.
In the interview to "Holos Ukrainy" newspaper on Tuesday, V.Lytvyn stated that adoption of these acts was not urgent. "If they are not adopted, the country would not stop. Someone wants to gain a political capital, criticizing the codes. They are blocking and picketing something, inciting for manifestations. However, the Parliament does not plan to scrutinize these drafts in the nearest time. We will deal with them, when they are finalized and meet the public moods," he stated.
The Head of the Parliament admitted that even if the acts are perfect from the legal point of view, but have "no root system", the public will neglect them. Such systemic laws require a thorough expert review, V.Lytvyn stated.
